founded in 2024, Our school is focused on values of friendship, connection, and growth. We welcome all dancers to join us as we grow our Journey family and support our local community.
We are here to support our local dancers and make Sarasota a place where dancers want to come to. The focus of the school is to provide dancers of every level a place to continue to grow in skill and technique, while they have fun and build connection. Bachata Journey will grow as a Family with our community and we want you to join us on this mission.

ABOUT
My name is Aaron Chao, director and owner of Bachata Journey. I started dancing in college and have background in hip hop and breakdancing.
After I graduated, I wanted to find a dance that I cOULD enjoy socially and meet amazing friends. In 2019, I found bachata and fell in love.
Since then I've trained with Bachata Sensual Orlando, Bachata Fuego, and with many international artistS INCLUDING Korke & Judith, Ros & Klau, AND Luis & Andrea.
In 2024, I took a BACHATA Sensual instructor course by Sensual Movement to further my knowledge as an instructor and owner. My goal is to build the Bachata Sensual community in Sarasota and have a school where you can come and have fun while learning fundamental technique. Come join our Bachata family!

No partner or experience is required. If this is your first time learning Bachata, come to our level 1 group class and learn the foundations to be a confident dancer. During classes, we rotate partners so you can practice with all your classmates.

It is recommended for you to come to our Level 1 group class first to determine your level. we will ensure that the right level will help you learn and feel challenged while having fun.

What should I wear for dance classes/socials?
What should I wear for dance classes/socials?
For group classes, casual active wear is recommended. comfortable clothes you can move in are key to ensure you get the most out of your classes.
For socials, feel free to dress up but ensure that you can still move in your outfits. some of our socials will be themed so make sure to check the flyers. themed outfits are optional but always end up adding fun to the night!
for both classes and socials, Dance shoes are recommended. however, any shoes that are comfortable and have smooth bottom are fine. We want to be able to move on the floor without feeling like you’re going to trip.
